Nonsense

One of the more nonsensical ideas being promoted is that the electorate has decided collectively that there should be a hung parliament. A moment's thought exposes the inanity of the idea. When I went to vote in Tunbridge Wells it was in the knowledge that it would have no effect in any other constituency. The idea that by some form of telepathy we all knew that our votes across the nation would produce a hung parliament is pure fantasy.

The electorate did not decide collectively that there should be a hung parliament: it is the consequence of the results in individual seats.
