Beware: health fascists on the road.

The world is full of control freaks, totalitarians, fascists who know best and demand, on pain of punishment for committing a criminal offence, that we conform to their decrees.  The issue of smoking in motor vehicles has been raised again.

The outrageous suggestion is that all smoking in cars should be banned, simply on the grounds that it will make enforcement easier of a ban on smoking in a car with child passengers.

I commented on this issue last year:  http://kentcommunityactivist.blogspot.com/2010/04/another-blow-to-liberty_01.html

There are people who favour banning smoking in public places - parks and roads.  There are examples of councillors trying to ban smoking in municipal parks.  Restrictions on freedom come in many guises.
